01Introduction
These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the VEZL mobile application (“VEZL”, the “App”) and any related services provided by Knight Apps Limited (“we”, “us”, “our”).
By downloading, registering for, accessing or using VEZL, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you should not use the App.
02What VEZL Is
VEZL is designed as an everyday reassurance, location-sharing and personal-safety support tool.
Depending on the features available to you, VEZL can help you:
- Create groups of Trusted Friends.
- Let Trusted Friends know where you are.
- Share your location when you choose.
- Receive location information shared with you.
- Send and receive emergency alerts.
- Send emergency SMS messages to selected Trusted Friends.
- Access emergency features using quick-access methods.
- Alert up to 10 nearby VEZL Helpers where the Helper service is available.
- Keep a history of certain alerts and shared locations.
VEZL is intended to help people stay connected in everyday situations as well as provide additional ways of requesting assistance when something goes wrong.
VEZL is not an emergency service and is not a replacement for the police, ambulance, fire service, coastguard or any other emergency service.
If you are in immediate danger or require professional emergency assistance, you should contact the appropriate emergency service whenever you are able to do so.
03Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create and operate your own VEZL account, unless use by a younger person is permitted with appropriate consent from a parent or legal guardian and in accordance with applicable law.
You must use VEZL only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.
04Your Account and Device
You are responsible for:
- Providing accurate registration information.
- Keeping your telephone number and other relevant account information up to date.
- Selecting appropriate Trusted Friends.
- Keeping Trusted Friend information up to date.
- Maintaining access to your registered device and telephone number.
- Keeping your device sufficiently charged and operational.
- Enabling the permissions required for the VEZL features you wish to use.
- Correctly configuring any optional quick-access, voice or hardware-triggering features.
VEZL functionality may be affected if permissions such as notifications, location services or other required device permissions are disabled.
05Trusted Friends
VEZL allows users to create Trusted Friends groups.
The Free version allows users to create Trusted Friends groups and select up to five default Trusted Friends for supported SMS emergency functionality.
It is your responsibility to ensure that the people you select are appropriate contacts and that their contact information is correct.
Being listed as a Trusted Friend does not mean that person is continuously monitoring you or guarantees that they will see, receive or respond to an alert.
06Location Sharing and Everyday Reassurance
VEZL allows subscribed users to share location information with Trusted Friends and use location-sharing features for everyday reassurance, meeting friends and other supported purposes.
For example, a user may choose to send their location to show that they have arrived somewhere safely or to help another person find them.
VEZL does not guarantee the accuracy of location information.
GPS and other location technologies can be affected by buildings, surroundings, network conditions, device settings and other factors outside our control.
VEZL does not continuously share your location with other users simply because you have the App installed. Location information is shared in accordance with the features you activate and the permissions you have granted.
Further information about how location and other personal data are processed is contained in the VEZL Privacy Policy.
07Emergency Alerts
VEZL provides features designed to help users request assistance.
Depending on your plan, device and configuration, an emergency alert may be initiated through methods including:
- The emergency alert function within VEZL.
- A floating quick-access button.
- Supported hardware-trigger methods.
- Supported voice-trigger methods.
- SMS emergency backup.
Emergency alerts may be sent to eligible Trusted Friends and, for subscribed users where available, nearby VEZL Helpers.
Sending an emergency alert through VEZL does not contact the emergency services unless a separate feature expressly states otherwise.
If professional emergency assistance is required, you or another person should contact the appropriate emergency service whenever possible.
08Voice and Hardware Triggers
Certain VEZL emergency-triggering methods rely on functions provided by the user’s phone, operating system or device manufacturer.
Availability and operation may therefore vary depending on:
- Phone make and model.
- Operating system and software version.
- Device manufacturer restrictions.
- Siri, Google/Gemini or other voice-assistant functionality.
- Permissions.
- Accessibility settings.
- Lock-screen restrictions.
- Battery-management settings.
- User configuration.
Some trigger methods may require additional setup before they will work.
We cannot guarantee that every voice or hardware trigger will operate on every device or in every device state.
Users should familiarise themselves with the emergency methods available on their particular device and test their setup appropriately.
09SMS Emergency Backup
VEZL includes supported SMS functionality that can provide an additional way of contacting selected Trusted Friends.
SMS messages are sent using your device and mobile network.
SMS messages may use your mobile telephone plan’s text-message allowance or may incur standard SMS charges from your mobile network provider.
International, roaming or other network charges may also apply depending on your mobile plan and location.
Knight Apps Limited does not control these charges.
SMS delivery depends on your device, mobile network coverage, recipient details and the recipient’s mobile network and device.
We cannot guarantee that an SMS will be delivered or read.
10Nearby VEZL Helpers
Subscribed users may be able to send an emergency alert to up to 10 nearby VEZL Helpers, subject to availability and the operation of the service.
VEZL Helpers are members of the VEZL community who have chosen to participate in the Helper system.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, VEZL Helpers are not employees, agents, security personnel, medical professionals or trained emergency responders acting on behalf of Knight Apps Limited.
The availability of Helpers will vary according to location, time, user density, connectivity and whether nearby users are available to receive alerts.
We cannot guarantee:
- That a Helper will be nearby.
- That 10 Helpers will be available.
- That an alert will be received.
- That a Helper will accept an alert.
- That a Helper will reach you.
- That assistance will ultimately be provided.
Users should not place themselves in danger when responding to an alert and should contact the appropriate emergency services where necessary.
11Receiving and Accepting Alerts
Free and subscribed VEZL users may receive supported emergency alerts.
A user who receives or accepts an alert is not required to put themselves at risk.
Where appropriate, users should contact the emergency services rather than entering a dangerous situation themselves.
Acceptance of an alert indicates an intention to assist where reasonably possible. It does not create a guarantee that the accepting user will reach the person who triggered the alert.
12Go Off Grid
VEZL may provide a Go Off Grid feature allowing users to temporarily make themselves unavailable for certain VEZL alerts or Helper functions.
When Go Off Grid is enabled, some alerts or services may not be received or available.
It is the user’s responsibility to understand the effect of enabling this feature.
Where the App allows an Off Grid period to expire automatically, normal availability may resume after the selected period.
13Free and Paid Features
VEZL provides both free and paid functionality.

- Floating quick-access functionality.
Paid VEZL
Paid access may additionally include:

- Location-sharing functionality.
- Supported hardware emergency triggers.
- Supported voice emergency triggers.

- Other premium functionality introduced from time to time.
The exact features available may depend on your device, operating system, permissions, location and current version of VEZL.
14Payment Options
VEZL may offer the following options:
Free
Basic VEZL functionality with no subscription charge.
30-Day Pass – £1.99
Provides access to supported premium VEZL functionality for 30 days.
The 30-Day Pass does not automatically renew. Premium access ends at the end of the purchased period unless another pass or subscription is purchased.
Monthly Subscription – £1.99 per month
Provides access to supported premium VEZL functionality and renews automatically each month until cancelled in accordance with the applicable purchase terms.
Yearly Subscription – £19.99 per year
Provides access to supported premium VEZL functionality and renews automatically each year until cancelled in accordance with the applicable purchase terms.
Prices may change in the future. Any applicable taxes, platform rules, notice requirements and payment terms will be presented where required.
15Subscription Cancellation and Expiry
Recurring subscriptions may be cancelled in accordance with the method and terms presented when the subscription is purchased.
Cancelling a recurring subscription normally prevents the next renewal but does not necessarily end paid access immediately.
Premium functionality may remain available until the end of the already-paid subscription period.
When a paid subscription or 30-Day Pass expires, your account may return to the Free level of VEZL functionality.
Deleting the VEZL App does not necessarily cancel an active recurring subscription.
Refunds, where applicable, will be handled in accordance with applicable law and the terms of the relevant payment or app-store provider.
16Service Availability
We take reasonable steps to provide a reliable service, but VEZL relies on technology and services that are not entirely within our control.
These may include:
- Internet connectivity.
- Mobile telephone networks.
- GPS and location services.
- Device hardware.
- Operating systems.
- Push-notification services.
- Mapping services.
- Cloud infrastructure.
- Voice assistants.
- Third-party software and services.
Consequently:
- Alerts may occasionally be delayed or fail.
- Notifications may not always be received.
- SMS messages may not be delivered.
- Location information may be inaccurate.
- Voice or hardware triggers may behave differently between devices.
- Parts of VEZL may temporarily be unavailable.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
17Alert Confirmation and Connectivity
VEZL may provide visual, audible or other indications that an alert has been initiated or received.
Where technically supported, VEZL may retry certain actions when connectivity becomes available.
A visual indication that an alert has been initiated does not necessarily mean that every intended recipient has received or read it.
If you require urgent assistance and VEZL does not confirm the result you expect, you should use another available method of seeking help.
18User Conduct
You must not:
- Deliberately trigger false emergency alerts.
- Abuse or repeatedly misuse the alert system.
- Harass, threaten or intimidate other users.
- Use VEZL to track or monitor another person unlawfully.
- Provide deliberately false information.
- Interfere with the operation or security of VEZL.
- Attempt unauthorised access to another account.
- Use VEZL for fraudulent, illegal or malicious purposes.
- Encourage a Helper or Trusted Friend to enter an obviously dangerous situation.
We may suspend or terminate accounts where we reasonably believe VEZL is being abused or these Terms have been materially breached.
19Privacy and Personal Data
Your privacy is important to us.
VEZL may process information required to provide its functionality, which may include:
- Account and telephone-number information.
- Trusted Friend information.
- Location information when relevant features are used.
- Alert information.
- Device information.
- Technical and usage information required to operate, secure and improve the service.
We do not sell your personal data.
Our processing of personal data is explained more fully in the VEZL Privacy Policy, which should be read alongside these Terms.
20Third-Party Services
VEZL may rely on third-party services including mapping, notification, cloud, telecommunications, operating-system and payment services.
Those services may have their own terms and privacy policies.
While we select and operate third-party services with reasonable care, we cannot control every aspect of their availability or performance.
21Updates to VEZL
We may update VEZL to:
- Add or improve features.
- Correct faults.
- Improve security.
- Maintain compatibility with operating systems and devices.
- Comply with legal or regulatory requirements.
Certain features may change over time as mobile operating systems, device manufacturers and third-party services change their own technology.
Some updates may be necessary for VEZL to continue functioning correctly.
22Limitation of Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including any rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable consumer law.
Subject to those rights and to the extent permitted by law, Knight Apps Limited does not guarantee that VEZL will prevent injury, loss, crime, an emergency or any other adverse event.
VEZL is intended to provide additional communication and reassurance tools. It should not be treated as a guaranteed safety system or relied upon as the sole means of obtaining emergency assistance.
Knight Apps Limited is not responsible for failures caused by circumstances outside its reasonable control, including mobile-network outages, internet failures, GPS inaccuracies, device failures, operating-system restrictions or failures of third-party services.
23Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to VEZL where reasonably necessary, including where:
- These Terms have been materially breached.
- VEZL is being deliberately misused.
- Fraudulent activity is suspected.
- Suspension is necessary to protect users, VEZL or our systems.
- We are required to do so by law.
You may stop using VEZL at any time, subject to any separate cancellation requirements applying to an active paid subscription.
24Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms when VEZL, applicable law or our business arrangements change.
Where required, we will provide appropriate notice of material changes.
The latest version of these Terms will state the date on which it was last updated.
25Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory consumer rights that apply to you based on where you live.
